It’s a great (or at least good) debate: When do the holidays actually start?
If you said Thanksgiving, you’re probably in the mainstream. That rush from Thanksgiving to Christmas and New Year’s can feel like a complete whirlwind of bustle, though.
We’ve found a way to alleviate some of that stress – start celebrating early. Like, in-November-before-Thanksgiving early. And a great place to do that? Myrtle Beach. The destination you love when it’s warm is perfect when it’s cool, too.
In this post, we’ll share some of the early holiday fun going on in Myrtle Beach this month. November is great because it has its own late-fall traditions that feel like holidays. We can treat them like pre-holidays. It gets dark earlier in November, but there’s still plenty of time in the sun for having fun, especially with an agreeable climate as the Carolina coast has.

It’s probably cool where you live. Or at least, cooler than it is in Myrtle Beach. Winterlike temperatures here are mild. The average air temps are around 70 degrees. That’s perfect for doing things outside all fall and into the winter. Whether that’s a hike on the trail, casting a line in the ocean, or just taking a walk on the beach, you can do it all this month in Myrtle Beach.
Early holiday fun in November
Art in the Park, starting Nov. 14-15, Myrtle Beach

Bike to the Boardwalk, Nov. 13, Georgetown

The Carolina Opry Christmas Special, through Jan. 6, Myrtle Beach
This colorful and anticipated music variety show has been a holiday tradition for more than 30 years. It’s got riveting performances of a friendly, funny, and tender presentation. You’re in for a show that blends the tradition of the event with a new twist each year.
Christmas Wonderland, starting Nov. 23, Little River
It’s a new event for the whole family, at North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex. They do a fantastic job of lighting up the holidays for this drive-thru experience. Tune your radio to the complex’s station for Christmas music to match the program.
Dickens Christmas Show & Festivals, Nov. 10-12, Myrtle Beach
Take a step back in time to the setting of the Dickens classic novella, A Christmas Carol. The 19th-century holiday atmosphere gives visitors the enchanting experience of a Victorian holiday marketplace. You’ll want to be sure to return every year for this!
Intracoastal Christmas Regatta, Nov. 26, Little River
The official holiday kickoff on the waterway in Little River and North Myrtle Beach, the Intracoastal Christmas Regatta is a striking maritime parade. Pick a viewing spot for the show as it travels south Dock Holidays Marina. Stop at a local restaurant for special menus, too.
Magic & Comedy Show Starring Michael Bairefoot, Through Dec. 29, Myrtle Beach

Motown Christmas Tribute, Nov. 4-Dec. 30, Myrtle Beach
It’s a gala to celebrate more than 60 years of Motown Music, in an evening of soulful performances at the intimate cabernet-style GTS Theatre. This historical show has a holiday twist, with sprinkles of Christmas music mixed in with original-hit favorites from the Motor City.
Syrup Day at the L.W. Paul Living History Farm, Nov. 21, 9 a.m.-noon, Conway
Learn how farm families in Horry County made old-fashioned syrup, from cane harvesting to milling to cooking down the raw juice into sweet cane syrup. This practice became a reason for the community to celebrate, and the tradition lives on at the farm to this day.
