Pro Football Hall of Fames Comes to Myrtle Beach

See a bit of that Canton mystique right here in Myrtle Beach.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame Myrtle Beach has a new exhibit you can’t see anywhere else. It’s like the Pro Bowl of the Hall of Fame, a collection of the most awesome items you can see in Canton, Ohio. Come see more than 200 treasures of the league’s history, rare photos, and more from the Hall of Fame’s archives.

Here’s a bit more about the exhibit, and about the hall you can see at Broadway at the Beach.

What’s Gridiron Glory About?

It’s a panoramic view of the game’s history. It starts from humble beginnings in the late 19th century to its status as The League today. Some of the icons of the game on display include:

  • A Vince Lombardi Super Bowl trophy
  • A game ball from Jim Thorpe and the Canton Bulldogs, circa 1917
  • An early football and leather helmet
  • The shoe Saints kicker Tom Dempsey wore for his record-breaking field goal, circa 1970
  • Turf and other artifacts from the Immaculate Reception game in Pittsburgh, circa 1972

Visitors can see hands-on interactive exhibits. They allow them to experience game action, make a critical call, join a huddle, or see the game in another era, and more.

Wait … there’s a Pro Football Hall of Fame in Myrtle Beach?

Yes! It’s near Dave & Busters. You didn’t notice? It’s okay. The Hall extension opened in July 2021. NFL Hall of Famers Donnie Shell and Joe DeLamielleure joined the festivities.

Saleem Choudhry is the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Vice President of Museum/Exhibit Services. He said the Myrtle Beach location gives more people a glimpse into what the main hall is like. “We hope this extension of the Museum will broaden the Hall’s reach,” he said. “And ultimately drive more visitors to Canton to see all the Hall has to offer.”
