Banditos Offers Great Mexican Cuisine On the Boardwalk

Craving Mexican food during your stay in Myrtle Beach? Check out Banditos Restaurant & Cantina. With its convenient boardwalk location, you can sip a margarita while you take advantage of the lovely oceanfront view and inspired menu, all within steps of the beach.

Banditos opened in 2012 and offers creative Mexican fare with unobstructed views of the beach from any seat in the house (or from any seat on the covered terrace, the umbrella-studded deck or the sandy area down by the bandstand, where live music entertains patrons year round — this place sure knows how to take advantage of the sweet beachside setting). Parking is free, but why not walk? The restaurant is located next to the Myrtle Beach SkyWheel.

The restaurant's building is beautiful, too, with a soaring, domed ceiling and lots of ceramic tile and interior columns. It evokes the feel of a small Mexican town square combined with coastal Caribbean resort.

The menu at Banditos is filled with fresh takes on Mexican seafood dishes, many with a Cuban flair. Appetizers include Seafood Spinach Dip, Peel And Eat Shrimp, and the tasty Fuego Shrimp Tostada, which will temp you with crispy shrimp in a spicy aioli sauce served with tostadas, lettuce, tropical salsa and cilantro-lime crema. For dinner, signature dishes include Macadamia Crusted Rainbow Trout topped with artichoke hearts and citrus-shoyu sauce, and Caribbean Jerk Salmon served with tropical mango salsa.

But it's not all about the seafood at Banditos. You'll also find a wide and interesting selection of burritos, fajitas, tacos, quesadillas and more. Try the Cuban Sandwich with roasted pork loin and Swiss cheese, or the Bandito Burger for something a little more all-American.

And don't forget about the bar. Banditos has a full drink menu, including bottled and draft beer, a selection of wines, mixed drinks, shots, and more than 100 types of tequila. (Wow!)
