Shorter days, cooling temperatures and thinning crowds on the beach – while all of these signs may indicate that summer is winding down, it’s still not too late to take one last summer vacation on the Grand Strand before fall begins!

Marking summer’s unofficial end, Labor Day is the perfect time for a Myrtle Beach getaway to close out the season. After all, on our stretch of the Carolina coast, the three-day weekend is filled with late-summer fun, festivals, fireworks and more – and a Labor Day weekend retreat on the Grand Strand gives your family a chance to get away and get together one last time before the school-year routine returns. Further, with a stay at Caribbean Resort & Villas on the Myrtle Beach oceanfront, you can treat your vacation crew to our comfortable accommodations and wide-ranging on-site amenities, all while soaking in the area’s many family-friendly attractions and saving some vacation funds with our late-summer specials.

Consider some of these fun reasons to send your summer off in style on the Grand Strand:

Beach, Boogie & BBQ Festival: Get your Labor Day weekend off to a smokin’ start August 31-September 1 with this food-and-music-focused festival at The Market Common. Proclaimed the official barbecue competition of South Carolina, the Beach, Boogie & BBQ Festival features an array of tasty eats, a full lineup of live music, a collection of arts & crafts vendors, and a wine and beer garden.

Fireworks and Other Entertainment: The skies over the Grand Strand will light up for one last time this summer with a pair of fireworks shows scheduled for Labor Day weekend. At North Myrtle Beach’s Barefoot Landing shopping/dining/entertainment complex, the SummerFest entertainment series offers roaming entertainers, live music and other activities on the evening of Friday, August 31, all followed by a season-finale fireworks show at 10 p.m. on Saturday, September 1. Myrtle Beach hot spot Broadway at the Beach will present a fireworks display over Lake Broadway on Sunday, September 2, at 10 p.m. – in addition to presenting free live entertainment every night of the week through September 2 as part of its Summer Nights entertainment series.

Outdoor Concert: Boasting “the Best Backyard in Town,” the Boathouse will wrap up its summer Sunday Concert Series on the Intracoastal Waterway in Myrtle Beach with a performance by alternative reggae band The Movement on Sunday, September 2. The show begins at 5 p.m.

Water Parks and Amusement Parks: At many of the Grand Strand’s water parks and amusement parks – including Myrtle Waves, Wild Water & Wheels and Splashes Water Park – Labor Day weekend will mark the end of the summer season, so visitors will get one final opportunity to experience the parks’ thrills and excitement before the attractions are closed for the fall and winter.

It’s hard to imagine many better ways to end your summer than by planning a fun-filled stay on the Myrtle Beach oceanfront at Caribbean Resort & Villas. Check out our end-of-summer specials today – and get ready to bid summer farewell in style on the Grand Strand!
