Caribbean Resort and Carolina Opry

Myrtle Beach really does have everything you need to entertain you day and night.  As guests of the Caribbean Resort, you are right in the heart of all of the action.  You are just steps away from many attractions, restaurants and the shows.  There are many amazing shows right here in Myrtle Beach.

Raved by many guests in the past as being the most “spectacular show they have ever seen”.  The Carolina Opry is bona fide proof that Myrtle Beach has a spunky side that will keep you amused and enthused and coming back every year for more.

The theatre offers the most hardcore seeker of fun energetic shows full of glitter, glamour and unrestrained gusto to give you a joyous night out on the town.

Calvin Gilmore – a country music man who is a songwriter, producer and singer – founded Carolina Opry back in 1986. During that time, Myrtle Beach got pretty dull on the family-entertainment side and Gilmore vowed to spark a fire.

Well, he did and Carolina Opry has been making toes tap and hips shake ever since.
It’s no wonder then why Carolina Opry is a former recipient of The Governor’s Cup, which is South Carolina’s highest tourism award.

The theatre has also received accolades from The New York Times, USA Today, NBC Nightly News and CNN.  The Myrtle Beach theatre houses four polished productions – The Carolina Opry, the Carolina Opry Christmas Special, Good Vibrations and the LIGHT Laser Extravaganza. Each is distinguished and delightful.

The all-male percussive clogging group, ALLTHAT!, are nationally recognized for their fancy, frantic footwork and made it to the quarterfinals of NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.” Their speed, finesse and sheer talent make them worth the price of admission alone.

Yet, the great news is that Carolina Opry has stellar talent of such in all of its shows.
Good Vibrations, for example, is a riveting show that brings to life the culture and music of the 60s, 70s and 80s while also integrating comedy and dance throughout.

The LIGHT show is a thrilling spectacle of laser lights programmed to the sounds of music created by The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and other artists.

The Carolina Opry production combines American music of various genres including gospel, rock and country into its presentation.

The Carolina Opry Christmas Special, held from November to January, is a sensational showcase of seasonal cheer that will have you laughing, dancing in your seat and cheering for more.
One of the featured performers is Rocky Fretz. A pianist, Fretz, who plays with the jazzy sass, performs his beautiful interpretations of classic and modern Christmas songs.

As a guest of Caribbean Resort, you have the beauty of being so close to the theatre and the grand entertainment at Carolina Opry.
