LITCHFIELD COUNTRY CLUB CELEBRATES 40TH ANNIVERSARY
Pawleys Island Course to Offer Special Greens Fee During the Month of September
September 5, 2006, Pawleys Island, S.C. – Litchfield Country Club will celebrate its 40th anniversary in September and to commemorate turning the big 4-0, Litchfield will offer $40 greens fees per foursome for late afternoon tee times in September. All foursomes who call Tee Time Central, (843) 235-6065, and book late afternoon September tee times will receive a $40 rate for the group, or $10 per person.
“Litchfield Country Club was one of the first eight golf courses in Myrtle Beach area and the first in Pawleys Island,” said Jim Woodring, vice president of golf operations for Myrtle Beach National. “Since opening in 1966, Litchfield has always been a favorite on the Grand Strand and we look forward to 40 more successful years.”
Ranked one of the “world's 50 best courses” by Conde Nast Traveler, the gracious charms of the Litchfield Country Club has maintained its original features, including player friendly greenside pathways for bump and run approach shots. The mature tree-lined fairways wind amid giant oaks and shimmering lakes of a former Carolina rice plantation, creating an extraordinarily challenging “country club” experience. This traditionally-styled layout is considered the flagship of the historic plantation courses. The par 4, 18th hole is featured in the book “The 100 Greatest Holes Along the Grand Strand” published by The Sun News.
Litchfield Country Club is one of nine courses owned and operated by the Myrtle Beach National Company. For more information, visit Litchfield’s website at www.mbn.com.
