One of the keys to operating a successful resort is constantly working to keep everything up-to-date. We’re always refreshing paint, deep cleaning carpets, and working to maintain our landscaping. And when winter comes, we also bring in some bigger changes to make sure that we have the freshest, most up-to-date accommodations to offer to our guests.
This winter, we have several exciting projects planned, including:
In the Cayman Tower, we’ll be installing new carpeting in all of our condo units, as well as replacing the sofa. “The new carpet is navy blue with green, very fresh and beachy. And the sofa is nice, it’s a fresher look, very sleek and clean,” said Megan Mechanic of Caribbean Resort.
“It’s a big undertaking when we’re doing this, because we have to block the floor above and below the work so that none of our guests who are staying with us will be disturbed by the noise. But the end result is always worth it,” Megan said. The work should be finished by March.
The Dominicans oceanfront suites will all be getting brand new carpeting, as well. “We’ll also be doing what’s called ‘knock down’ on the ceilings, that is, we’ll be getting rid of the popcorn ceilings,” Megan said. The new ceilings will be fresh and clean looking. “People are going to be so happy—it seems like a small thing, but it really makes a difference.”
Chelsea House Villas
Big changes are coming to the Chelsea House Villas’ pool area. “We’re completely re-doing that area, we’re taking out the hot tub and moving it and we’re expanding the pool to make it bigger,” Megan said. The two outdoor water attractions will be repositioned in such a way that there will now be more deck area for relaxing and sunbathing. “It will be a big improvement,” she said. The changes are scheduled to be completed in March, in time for Myrtle Beach’s summer season.
