Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! Odditorium in Myrtle Beach

Odditorium in downtown Myrtle Beach.  Located just across Ocean Boulevard from the new Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and the Sky Wheel, this museum of the unusual features the personal collection of famed world-traveler Robert Ripley, whose "Believe It Or Not" cartoons sparked the curiosity of generations of Americans and people from all over the planet.   

This three-story building on the corner of 8th Avenue North and Ocean Boulevard catches the eye from blocks away. Featuring a giant, fake crack in the side of the building and a huge floating boulder in a fountain on the corner, visitors know they've arrived someplace unique as window displays pique their interest.  Once inside, Ripley's Believe It Or Not! Odditorium does not disappoint.

Exhibits bring Mr. Ripley's life's work of gathering "odd-ifacts" from the four corners of the earth to each guests in a hauntingly, surreal way. A walk through the halls prompts a mix of reactions ranging from amazement to repulsion.  From a genuine shrunken head to replicas of the world's tallest man and a six-legged cow, the weird just keeps getting weirder at every turn.

Visitors also can visit the gift shop to take home memories of the journey through this museum that will last a lifetime.  Located at 901 North Ocean Boulevard, Ripley's Believe It Or Not! Odditorium is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
