Myrtle Beach Restaurant: For Ribs with a View, Try Damon’s Grill on the Water
Compass Cove Resort in Myrtle Beach has two onsite restaurants for hungry visitors, but for guests looking to explore other Myrtle Beach restaurant options, there’s plenty nearby. This includes the oceanfront rib restaurant. Damon’s Grill, which is just a two-minute drive down Ocean Boulevard from Compass Cove, or, better yet, a 15-20 minute walk south along the beach.
“We’ve got great food, a great location, and a comfortable, casual atmosphere,” said Damon’s Grill general manager Brian Pennington. The restaurant has spectacular oceanfront beach views, whether you’re sitting outside on the deck watching the waves roll in or dining inside near the large picture windows.
If you head to Damon’s Grill, do yourself a favor and try the ribs—they’re the house specialty. “We’re known for our ribs and our prime rib,” Pennington said. Other popular menu items include wings, potato skins stacked high with cheeses, juicy burgers and oven-baked pizzas for two.
Damon’s lounge is a great pick for watching sporting events, with multiple large flat-screen televisions providing a sports bar feel. Happy hour is available in the lounge seven days a week from 4 to 7 p.m. During happy hour, look for specials including $3 house liquors, discounted appetizers and discounted draft beers and wine.
Damon’s Grill tip: Dining on your birthday? “Our policy is, if you’re free on your birthday, so are we,” Pennington said. Show your ID on the day of your birthday and you’ll get a free meal of your choice and birthday cake with a song.
Damon’s Grill is open for lunch and dinner every day, but if you’re looking for breakfast options when you’re staying at Compass Cove resort in Myrtle Beach, look no further than Compass Rose, a year-round hit with an $8.95 all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet that opens at 6 a.m. daily. Compass Rose also offers an a la carte menu. Beginning in March, you’ll also be able to visit the oceanfront restaurant and lounge The Crow’s Nest at Compass Cove, which offers indoor and outdoor seating on the deck. Come mid-April, you can also enjoy a bite and drink poolside at the resort’s Tiki Hut.
