Frequently Asked Questions at The Caribbean Resort

  • What taxes can I expect to pay?
    • Guests can expect to pay a 12% tax fee.
       
  • What is included in the resort fee?
    • The following is included: a $4.52 marketing fee and a $7-9 resort fee, depending on the rate. 
       
  • Do I need a credit card to check in?
    • For security purposes, we require that guests show the credit card used when reservation was made.
    • Guests are welcome to pay with cash instead of a card. However, we take an extra $100 security deposit that is refunded at checkout when paying with cash.
       
  • Is there a surcharge to use my credit card for payment?
    • No, there is no surcharge when using a credit card.
       
  • Does the resort provide parking (valet parking/free parking/across-the-street parking)?
    • There is free parking across the street in the parking garage. We do not have valet parking.
    • We do not allow trailer parking, all vehicles, motorcycles and mopeds must have a parking pass.
       
  • What is the parking garage height clearance?
    • The parking garage height clearance is 7 feet, 3 inches.
  • What time is check-in and checkout?
    • Check-in is at 3 p.m. and checkout is at 11 a.m.
       
  • Is it possible to check in early? Can we use the facilities before check-in?
    • Guests can pre-check in at the front desk and use the amenities, but they cannot get keys to the room until it is ready.
       
  • Do you accommodate late checkouts?
    • No, we do not allow late checkouts.
       
  • How do I edit my reservation?
    • To edit a reservation, call our reservations department 800-845-0883.
       
  • Can I bring my pet?
    • No, we do not allow pets on-property.
       
  • How far away is the airport form the resort?
    • The airport is approximately a 15-minute drive and about 6 miles away.
       
  • Is there a shuttle to and from the airport?
    • The resort does not have a shuttle, but the city THE CITY??? can provide one.
       
  • Is there a shuttle available to the local attractions?
    • No, we do not have a shuttle to the local attractions.
       
  • Is Wi-Fi available?
    • Free Wi-Fi is available to all guests.
       
  • What are the restaurants at the resort? Do you have room service?
    • We do not have room service. However, we have a Tiki Bar located on the pool deck that is open from April-October. Sea Captain’s House is located right next door to the resort. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.
       
  • What amenities are offered to guests?
    • The following amenities are offered to guests: Game room, fitness center, business center, laundry facility, 2 lazy rivers, 5 spas, 5 pools and 3 children’s pools.
       
  • Do you offer a concierge on site?
    • Yes, our concierge is located in the lobby. 
       
  • What TV channels are available in the room?
    • We offer basic cable with the 5 major Networks and complimentary movie channel HBO, a TV channel lineup list is available in the room and at the front desk.
       
  • Are movies available on-site?
    • Yes, free DVD rentals are offered. 
       
  • Are cots available for rooms?
    • No, cots are not available for rooms.
       
  • Is breakfast provided?  If so, from what times? What is the price?
    • Complimentary breakfast is not provided at our resort, but Sea Captain’s House next door offers breakfast. We offer discounted tickets at the front desk: $4.38 for a child and $8.78 for an adult, including taxes. This is only available at check-in or when making reservation.
       
  • Do you have hair dryers in the room?
    • We do provide hair dryers
       
  • What newspapers does the resort provide, if any?
    • We carry the local newspaper, The Sun News, and US News. Paper stand is located on ground floor of Cayman tower.
       
  • What is the cancellation policy?
    • If you cancel within 14 days of your reservation, you forfeit the deposit. If you cancel more than 14 days from the arrival date then you receive 90% of the deposit back.

  • Is there an iron and ironing board in the room?
    • Yes, irons and ironing boards are available in every room.
       
  • What is stocked in the kitchen of a room/efficiency/suite/condo?
    • Efficiency: small stove, small fridge, microwave, sink, coffeemaker, cups, bowls, plates, pot, pan and silverware.
    • Suite: Full fridge, stove, sink, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, cups, bowls, plates, pots, pans, cookie dish, casserole dish and silverware.
    • Condo: Full fridge, stove, sink, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, cups, bowls, plates, pots, pans, cookie sheet, casserole dish and silverware.
    • Coffeemakers are 12 cup, complimentary coffee and filters are not provided.
       
  • Do you have handicap-accessible rooms?
    • Yes, we offer handicap-accessible utilities in three oceanfront suites located in the Dominican Building.
       
  • How do you rent chairs and umbrellas on the beach?
    • Guests can rent beach supplies through the lifeguard located on the beach. Guest can payin cash.
       
  • What are the pool hours?
    • The pool is open daily from 9 a.m. to midnight.
       
  • Do the units have a stocked mini-fridge?
    • No, the unit mini-fridges are not stocked.
       
  • How many parking passes are allotted per room?
    • 1 parking pass for suites and standard rooms.
    • 2 parking passes for two- and three-bedroom condos.
    • 3 parking passes for four-bedroom condos.
       
  • What is the security deposit for? How long does it take for the credit card pre-authorization to be released?
    • The $100 security deposit is held on a credit card or paid in cash for all cash transactions, third-party reservations and 0 balances upon arrival. Depending on the bank, the credit card hold can take up to 30 days to release. 
    • Starting on April 18, 2016  all reservations still require advance deposit at time of reservation. At check-in, the security deposit of  $100 will change to a check to be issued for the refund and the check will be mailed out within 7 business days. No cash refunds will be done at the front desk upon departure.  This is just for cash paying security deposits only all credit card deposits will remain the same.
       
  • Do the rooms have a washer and dryer?
    • Only the condos are equipped with washers and dryers. We have a laundry room located on the 4th floor of the Cayman Tower for all rooms without a washer and dryer, a second laundry room is located in our Jamaican Tower on ground floor.
       
  • Are the pools heated?
    • Yes, the pools are heated.
       
  • Are cribs available?
    • No, but we do supply Pack ’n Plays.
       
  •  Do any units have a Jacuzzi tub?
    • No units have Jacuzzi tubs.
       
  • Do you offer discounts to area attractions? What attractions are close?
    • Yes, we do offer discounted tickets to a few local attractions.
    • We are about 1 ½ miles to Broadway at the Beach. which includes such attractions as Ripley’s Aquarium, Wonderworks, Magic Quest,as well as many Shops and Restaurants.
    • We are about 1 ½ miles to the Boardwalk which includes theSky Wheel and Ripley’s Believe it or Not.
       
  • What is the damage waiver fee?  What is included and not included?
    • The damage waiver fee is $29.95 plus tax. It includes all non-negligent damage up to $1,000 for the unit.
