The Avett Brothers are coming to Myrtle Beach in Spring 2018 for a three-night event at the House of Blues. Known for their folk-rock sound, the Avett Brothers have appeared on late-night shows, been nominated for multiple Grammy awards and won several Americana Music awards.‚

This national chain is built upon American music and Southern cuisine, a solid combination for those whose idea of dinner and a show is some good comfort food and a concert. Touring acts play the concert hall while local and regional acts hit the stage in the restaurant’s bar area and back porch. The “HoB” is all about food and music for the body and soul.
In the Crossroads dining room, country cooking collides with Cajun cuisine as the menu hits all the hot spots that gave birth to the blues, jazz and rock-n-roll. From the Mississippi Delta to the tastes of Tennessee, the menu is a culinary tribute to American music, taking diners on a gastronomic Tour de South.
The menu here is divided up into signature appetizers, fire-roasted flatbreads, blues classics, fresh salads, savory sandwiches, juicy burgers, kids meals and desserts, accommodating a wide range of tastes and levels of hunger.
For starters, nibble on some jalapeno and cheddar cornbread with Maple Butter, tear into Chicken Wings (available in spicy Jamaican Jerk or Buffalo Hot Sauce), or try their brand new Steamin’ Tot Mess Tater tos topped with pulled pork, cheddar cheese sauce and pickled jalapenos!
The Market Fish of the Day is always local and can be prepared one of three ways ˘ Sautƒed in olive oil, Blackened with spices and seared in a cast iron skillet, or Grilled in a citrus marinade over an open flame.
The most interesting part of the menu might be the American Classics section, a list full of new takes on old dishes. Consider the Lobster Mac & Cheese, a dish made with poached lobster meat in a rich, creamy cheese sauce made from scratch and topped with crunchy panko bread crumbs. Loretta’s Meatloaf is made with 100% ground Angus beef and topped with a house made sweet bell pepper-mushroom sauce, fried onions and served with seasonal vegetables and butter crushed potatoes. Other selections include unique takes on Jambalaya, ribs and pasta dishes.
If you˘re really in the mood for something a little bit lighter, the salad section offerings are a tasty way to fill up. In addition to classics like Caesar and Cobb, there are unique new flavor combinations like the Herb Crusted Salmon Salad (pan seared salmon, grilled squash, asparagus, grape tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion and red wine vinaigrette) and the Buffalo Chicken Salad (romaine, grilled corn, bleu cheese, black beans, tomatoes, onions, avocado, tortilla strips and ranch dressing).
Sandwich options range from a Philly Cheesesteak to a fresh fish sandwich or pulled pork sandwich. The Signature Burger section gives guests the option to Build Your Own, but also offers a Smoked BBQ Bacon, an Island Turkey, Portobello and the Juicy Lucy which is a beef and applewood-smoked bacon patty stuffed with provolone cheese and topped with crispy jalapenos, roasted tomatoes and chipotle mayo on a brioche bun.
The Kids menu is pretty basic ˘ chicken tenders, pizza, pasta, hot dog, etc. ˘ but the Dessert section has several sweet tooth options. Bourbon Bread Pudding (white chocolate, bananas, bourbon caramel sauce, whipped cream), Triple Chocolate Cheesecake, Key Lime Pie, and Coconut Cream Pie all compete for your taste buds if you have any room at all.
The Gospel Sunday Brunch is the most popular feast of the week, with an enormous spread of breakfast and Sunday dinner favorites on the buffet while the sounds of sweet gospel echoes through the concert hall. On Saturdays, HoB hosts Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre, an interactive comedy ˘œwho dunnit,˘ that features a three-course pre-fixe menu for audiences PG-13 and up.
Crossroads isn˘t just a place to grab a bite before a show ˘ it˘s a place where you can see a live acoustic show several nights a week while enjoying a gourmet dinner. The acoustic vibe is never overwhelmingly loud, but it can be lively, in a good way. The bar area produces a friendly amount of noise before the main acts take the stage across the courtyard.
As for the dining room itself, the low-lighting, ubiquitous hardwood, and ornate folk art on the walls create a very bluesy atmosphere. That may sound like a pun, but attention to details like those are part of what makes this place such a sensual place to enjoy some music and a meal.
